Cleto Reyes Lace Up Sparring Gloves

I would have rated the gloves as 5 stars as the gloves are brilliant however the experience of purchasing them and the customer service has meant my review is only 3 stars.

The gloves themselves are brilliant, they have excellent wrist support which is something I require - something the velcro versions lack massively in comparison. They are my first pair of lace up gloves, I have been boxing for 2 years all in, I am not an expert boxer but I wanted to step up from velcro everlast gloves and these were the perfect upgrade. They provide wrist support, allow you to really form a tight fist and for someone who has larger hands I don't struggle with my fingers being too long for the glove - something that has been an issue for other gloves.

My reason for not rating 5 stars is the original pair of lace gloves I received came in a box that had been ripped open prior to me receiving it (I flagged this with the customer service team) and the gloves were clearly worn as they had marks on the leather. I flagged this with customer service who were frankly evasive and dismissive telling me it was not possible and that I was wrong.

Eventually after alot of backwards and forwards plus photos of damage to the box and gloves the customer service rep agreed to review the gloves - all throughout the exchange they would not acknowledge that the gloves were damaged and only agreed to review them.

I paid for shipping to return the gloves which the customer service rep agreed would be refunded. Eventually I was sent a new pair of gloves which are fantastic and I'm really happy with however the postage was not initially refunded and I had to chase to get this paid out and resend receipts for the postage multiple times.

Overall the customer service was pretty diabolical, I tried calling but no answer, would at times only get a single email a day and regularly my queries would be ignored completely. The gloves are amazing, the customer service is sub par for the cost of the product, eventually I got the product I had paid for and my money back but Faye the customer service rep did not make it easy.

If I had initially received the second pair of gloves then this would be a 5 star review. I cannot fault the gloves and recommend them thoroughly but maybe look for a different provider.

You’ll find them to be really stiff to begin but once they wear through the become beautiful clove with the right amount of freedom and security you want I’m on my 2nd pair now for sparing and will be getting a 3rd and 4th
